| Erwin was born in Loveland, Larimer
Co., Colorado. As a young man, he was a mechanic for the family business
started by his grandfather, father and uncles. After the company was
sold, Erwin is reported to operated a dairy farm west of Loveland prior to
moving to Denver. For a number of years he was the owner and operator of
O&W Motors in Denver. He later became a garageman for the Post Office.
A heart attack forced him into retirement about nine months prior to his
death. His obituary notes he was a member of the Lakewood Presbyterian
Church, the Masons and Machinist Union No. 606. | Although the obituaries note that Erwin was to be interred in Crown Hill, Lakewood, Colorado, his burial location has not been found, and the cemetery records do not indicate burial within their grounds. | |
